Argyle, Bartonville and Double Oak offer a small-town, semi-rural lifestyle in a woodsy environment. The region began as an agricultural community. Early farmers settled in the area in the late 19th century and grew wheat, cotton and other crops. With the construction of paved roads, the nearby city of Justin – located just west of Argyle, Bartonville and Double Oak – became a shipping point for these agricultural products. All four communities still boast friendly, tight-knit atmospheres and relatively undeveloped natural landscapes.

Although the towns are conveniently located just outside the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, most of the residential properties in the region are ranches or estates with acreage. Argyle, Bartonville, Double Oak and Justin are situated in the southwestern portion of Denton County, approximately 25 miles from Fort Worth and somewhat further from Dallas. The proximity to Dallas and Fort Worth provides easy access to dining, nightlife and cultural and sporting events. Nearby attractions include Six Flags Over Texas, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, the West End Marketplace and the Texas Motor Speedway. Fort Worth is home to Sundance Square, Bass Hall and the Stockyards District. Because the area is so spread out, several different school districts provide local public education. These include Argyle, Northwest, Denton and Lewisville (Flower Mound) school districts. Real estate is affordable, with single-family homes available at prices to suit any lifestyle.
